Prospect Communications, a VARportal Business Service Provider member of VARportal,  provides ideas on how to grab market opportunities in a tough economy and how to get a greater return on your marketing dollar through personalized marketing.

Grab a Marketing Opportunity

In these challenging economic times, marketing is important. You must stay in front of your customers and prospects and make sure you are communicating a message that resonates.

Here are seven steps to keep your marketing effective:

  1. Develop a plan and time frame. Decide what you want to get done, when you will get it done and how much you want to spend. Once you develop the plan implement it!
  2. Pick defined targets that can be achieved. Do not go after everything, be specific and focused. Do not set out to achieve more than you can get done and followed up. Remember quality not quantity is the answer.
  3. Be realistic, results take time. Marketing takes time to get results. Although marketing takes time stay light on your feet and learn as you go along.
  4. Communicate early and often. If you have something worthwhile to say then say it. People are always interested in valuable information and contact.
  5. People respond and digest marketing messages in different manners. Use different formats to approach your prospects, email, newsletters, seminars, direct mail, surveys, and be creative.
  6. Make marketing a priority for everyone in the company. Everyone in the company is a sales person for your service or product. Make sure everyone knows your message and how to connect the potential prospect with the next level in the marketing process.
  7. Do not give up! Marketing that is planned, targeted and consistent gets results!

This is a great time to create and implement a marketing plan. Your competitors have pulled back on their marketing leaving you with a great opportunity.

Grab the opportunity!
